Homeopathic Telemedicine for NY, NJ and CT Patients

Homeopathic Telemedicine

Homeopathy was founded by German physician Samuel Hahnemann over 200 years ago. The founder was known to practice a version of homeopathic telemedicine. For Hahnemann, “homeopathic telemedicine” meant contacting patients and other doctors by mail. It was incredibly slow by today’s standards but it worked because homeopathy is based mostly on the patient’s description of their symptoms and not the name of the condition. If they could give a detailed description of their symptoms including symptom modalities, the system worked quite well. Hahnemann even predicted the remedies needed for the 1831 cholera epidemic in Russia based on a written description mailed to him. Today homeopathic telemedicine is an ideal way to have access to a classical homeopath especially for chronic health issues. There are some limitations, however. Dr. Masiello does not treat cancer or advanced neurological conditions.  Because of the time needed to review your submission, your first telemedicine session should not be used for an acute problem. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:

1. Book your appointment and fill out the necessary forms. Read all of the links needed to report your symptoms and better understand the process:

2. Set up the patient portal so you can send copies of recent lab results and any imaging reports less than two years old. If lab studies or imaging is needed, Dr. Masiello will order them after your first telemedicine visit.

3. Within a week the office will contact you to confirm your appointment or request more information or a clarification.

4. “How To Report Symptoms” is the most important step. The patient registration form has many check lists of symptoms but your personal experience as noted in your written narrative is the best information for classical homeopathy. Unfortunately, many patients show up for their first appointment with just a list of diagnoses and don’t understand the homeopathic process.

5. Maintain contact with your conventional primary care practitioner for urgent care or emergencies.
